I am a keen enthusiast of Ballet and therefore, I jumped at the chance at creating a logo for a dance shop on 99designs.
Here is my interpretation of the brief:
I thought about making the pointe shoe the main logo vector of the shop although they did stress that they wanted the name to be a focal point so I thought I would make this the side image.
I created my own lettering for the logo as this makes the ownership easier for the client and therefore don't need any licenses for the fonts etc... I think I am going to make it like the ribbons of shoes and therefore the stroke of the lettering needs to be differing in weights so.
These are the two final logos I submitted I was very happy with this and I believe it answered the brief well and a good balanced logo for the branding.
I also submitted this mock-up to show how the branding wold work and the professional look of the logo when apply to merchandise.
Unfortunately, again I was not shortlisted this was upsetting as most of the logos that was shortlisted wasn't very orientated towards ballet and therefore, mine was just not what they was asking for although this did answer the brief. I will learn from this maybe I should have looked into the shop more to see the style rather than taking the brief literally.
