Vernon Street Discussion
Vernon Street Discussion.
I went to see Sarah at Vernon to ask her about her expertise on book binding. I spoke to her about how I would attach single sheets together because I need the pages to be single due to the finishing on each page. But I also wanted to hard back bind the book together.
I know from experience from been on my ND course that I had to make tabs to join the single pages together due to the specialist paper I used didn't come in any bigger than A4 sheets.
Although When I mentioned this to her she said that I didn't have to do this due to that I can perfect bind the pages together, then attach a hard back bind book to the perfect bind. The only downfall of this is that you won't be able to open the book fully & if someone does the pint will break.
Although she did say that I could make a tab & join them together and stitch it that way but the perfect binding would be quicker and easier to establish.
Then I also asked her about the box I am wanting to make. And she said that either way I could do this either screen print the material first before I attach it to make the box. Or if I am wanting to make it with wood then I can foil/flock onto wood, I just need to build up with paper around the wood.
