Creating a Box for my How To Books...
So I have decided I wanted to make a wooden box for my little how to books to be held together. I came to this conclusion as it needed to be strong so therefore a belly band would not be sufficient. I went to speak to the wood workshop guys and he told me rather than cutting it on the laser cut we will get a much cleaner finish with cutting with the saw etc... So he told me to work our the measurements and get back to him.
Here is my working out:
I wanted a box like the one in my research that I seen in Paperchase as I liked the slow lift. And the books would not look weird within it.
Although He cut the height wrong firstly. So he asked if he could change the box to a lid which sits on top with a rid that slot in it to hold it on. I didn't want it to be difficult for the wood workshop man so I just agreed with his option.
So I wanted to test out my logo on the top of the box after he had built it for me. As we had to put the top in after because the lid can't fit in the lasercut whole. Here is my test piece of wood so I knew what consistency I wanted.
