1. What skills have you developed through this
module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
I believe that my concept skills have developed largely
within this module, this is due to the need of been inventive with the
multisensory pack. I had to sit down & get my concept & my ideas
together before starting to design, this has lead me to have a strong branding
also, as I developed the design largely before moving onto anything else.
My crafting skills, although my skills have never been a
poor quality I do believe that they needed to be improved. I have finished my
work off fully & used the concept throughout. Rather than just packaging it
anyhow and finishing it off with irrelevant objects.
2.
What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have
they informed your design development process?
I have improved my crafting of packaging nets, normally
I am doing a number of mock-ups before getting the net perfectly lined.
Although this time I only had to do one to two mock-ups before been able to
computerise it.
I have used the same layout and icons throughout this
product, which made me think that I hadn’t done much work as they look the same
but in different formats. But the brand recognition is much more stronger in
this that any of the others. I feel this is something I need to start doing as
this is what branding is about and therefore this is something I will carry in
the future to make sure I receive that strong brand recognition consistently.
3.
What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise
on these?
I found it hard at first to think of how I can create a
new event within a new brand. This was difficult when it came to the brand
guidelines but I feel that the brand guidelines made me create this strong
brand layout as everything was following the strict rules and therefore I feel
this was a strength within my work.
I do believe that my crafting skills are strong and they
do benefit my work. Although, I think that this can still be improved as I
never think that anything can be perfect.
4.
What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in
the future?
One weakness I believe that within my work is my time
management this module as I put my other modules, which had an earlier deadline
before these. I am very disappointed in myself as at the start of the year I
was very organised and my time management skills has improved.
I was really disappointed that I could make the last
brief into a festival, so I would have created three packs instead of one.
Although due to the time management fail, this has also suffered.
5.
Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you
expect to gain from doing these?
1.
I will make sure that I will keep to my time
management plan due to spending more time of modules that due to them been an
earlier deadline. I think this has majorly affected my overall outcome.
2.
I would focus more on the development of my work
rather than just computerising my outcome. As this time I did it start
digitally as I was nervous that I wouldn’t complete the work in time &
wanted to make sure I got a good quality & quantity in my work.
3.
I need to make sure that I blog when I do the
work rather than doing it when it comes to the deadline as this is when things
get missed out and therefore effects my overall grade. The tasks are also an
issue as sometimes I don’t do them straight away and then don’t understand what
the question is asking aftertime.
4.
I am going to make sure that I use facilities
such as the laser cutter especially for things such as my mail out and the cut
out of my packaging in both modules as this would give a crisper finish.
6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas:
Attendance 5
Punctuality 5
Motivation 4
Commitment 4
Quality of work produced 4
Quantity of work produced 3
Contribution to the group 3
