'Type is speech made visible'
One of the key shifts within the type time line that happened within industrialisation, is that people began to read & therefore became educated. Through process of industrialisation revolution there was a need to be able to read as before this there was storytellers as it was an oral tradition which had characters as they made the words come alive with accents.
Top Left Typeface: Make the relation to military, bold, stenciled, no refinement - spraying on to side of an oil can.
All elegant, script, simple but personally I say bottom left due to exaggeration & over the top.
Bottom: Decourate & celebratory it is more fluent and easier to ice to match the cake.
Trainers: This connotes speed, dynamic & movement
Wellies: Floral, feminine, decourate, girly, childish, playful
Which one would be put on this? 2nd One: Ammo Case, Miltary
The image reinforces what your thinking.
Timberlands (2nd one): Khaki colour, bold.
Heels: None of these seem very appropriate for the shoes.

We found it easier to categories these than the Bold, Italic etc... But to bold & italic are questionable as we was comparing it against other fonts rather than others form the same family. Which might give us the incorrect information.
Ledgibility & Readablity
Ledgibility & Reabablity hinge of our understanding of typeface anatomy.
Leading: The size of the lead block between letters in a word when printing.
The most important element in typography is the counter as it is the negative space in a letter form.
We all read counters of a letter form
We dont read what we see, we read the space around it.
Some people also find roman bodycopy easier to read due to the serifs articulating around the font.
Legibility: Is the degree to which glyphs ( Individual Characters) in text are understandable based on appearance.
Readability: Is the ease in which text can be understood. It is influenced by the line length, primary & secondary leading, justification, type style, leading & kerning.
Tracking: Pull it apart, spread it out.
Kerning: Pulls it together, don't allow kerning with bodycopy.
The rule of the thumb is no more than 5 fonts but you can harmonise them by suing other from the family of the typeface.

This type family is a very hard font to read at the most of times so I wouldn't choose it for something as a body copy or a block of text i would use it for a head line maybe a strap line. I believe the readability starts to come through at 36pt but obviously more readable at 72pt.

I believe that the marker felt wide is more readable in the wide style rather than thin as the font starts to become more readable at 36pt and more clearer to the reader eye in the wide font rather than the thin.

I believe the font within the typeface family that's the most readable is the Regular at 36pt. Although i think if there was a lot of text then this size would become very less readable and 72pt would be the most readable.

Rockwell seems to be more readable that Rockwell Extra Bold which i had as one of my original fonts. The point size is more readable starting from 36pt as i think that a block of text would be just readable.

I decided to do a next level between 36pt and 72pt as i do believe this font is not legible at 36pt to me as it is just a little bit bigger at 48pt. I believe this is due to its thick and flowing style.
Overall I believe that the Rockwell 48pt is the most readable now after the exploration of all 5 all my fonts I wouldn't necessarily use for a body copy as I used quite elaborate fonts. This is due to Rockwell having serifs and using a more cleaner finish to the font unlike the other typefaces.
