A letter is a representation of the sound.

Apple Logo:

Sign:        Signifier for brand that Communicates Quality & Creativity.

Type as Image

Use letter forms, use of type, the colour & form has a inherit of connoting to a message.

This is similar image to the one Fred used in the studio and from this even though its not the normal toilet sign in UK we would know to go to L for men and R for women as the colour blue is related to boys and red to women. Also the use of the man weeing standing up and the woman squatting to wee which is true in Korea. 

Its westernised to understand it although we didn't need the words.

Type & Image is two separate things.

Designing now typefaces for branding & identities.

This is the first task we was asked to use our Roman Typeface and we had to double the size of the stems. I haven't done and thing to the C due to it doesn't have a stem. And the A should have been both of the angled sides to be enlarged not just the left one.

This was the second task we was asked to use our Gothic typeface and we was asked to do one regular which is the normal size in the middle the one light which is my left one and then the right side bold. I have realised that i would have used a line for my light typeface and then the bold should have smaller counters.

This was the third task using the gothic typeface again. To the uppercase letter we had to bold the stem up & keep the cross bar the same size. To the lowercase letter we had to make the stem bold and the bowl light. Although i have done it wrong to the lowercase letter as the ear of the a ahould just be a regular style rather than bold same as the stem as the stem is not all the way around.

This is the fourth task using the gothic typeface again. We has to make the stem light and the bowl bold. So here i have created small counters and the stem into a line learning from my last mistake on the first task.

This was the fifth task using the gothic typeface again. I have to create one light and one bold and this was a very good development from the first task. Therefore i have learnt how to design new typeface from other typefaces and also has refreshed my memory on basic type anatomy.
