Article Poster

Article Research Posters

Here was set this brief which is continuing on from the last brief of the research. We have to create 3 posters that work as a set that work as 2:1 of A3. The posters have to be divided in to one just type, one just image & the third type & image. The restriction of 2 colours plus stock was very hard for me due to my first idea I started to used the 2 colours I thought would be best then when it came to the next poster I realised that I need to choose more simple colouring due to the large range of drawings so more like black & red with a simple white stock.

So i decided to do some quick thumbnails of each poster. I had an idea of what i wanted to be on each poster such as which area of my research was on which poster. But i decided that i wanted to do designs for all of my 3 different areas (Stereotypes of prisoners, Privileges of prisoners & Re offending of Prisoners) that i wanted to design all areas on the different poster restrictions.

Although i do think that because we had a minimum of 20 thumbnail ideas for each poster I got near to the end and run out of ideas so I filled them with useless ideas which i now know not to do if i cant think of any more ideas not to just fill the page due to clienteles could chose the idea i have put no thought into and then i will have to design an idea that i will not enjoy making and therefore will not be as good as i can make it.

Final Development

This is the first developments of image poster, I have decided on my over all design of a mug shot of a prisoner and the message I am trying to portray is a stereotype of a criminal.

This is the first idea i had which includes the board that they hold when they are having their mugshot taken before been imprisoned. Although this now has text on which this is suppose to be my image only poster.

Here i have just left the man as i drew him but i believe he needs some more simple characteristics to bring him more realistic.

Here i have put handcuffs on him and created a line between his legs so therefore it breaks up the blocky image. and the line on the shoes make them more like shoes rather than stubs at the end of his feet. The use of the height chart behind is how they take the pictures when taking the mugshot, i was going to put height numbers on but then realised that this would then be including text.

The second poster is going to be my words poster i have chosen to do it in a flow diagram chart style due to i believe this is the best way to show the repetition of re offending and going back to prison.

This was the first poster that I designed and this was my chosen colour palette at first but then I decided this wasn't a very good choice for my theme. Therefore I changed it to red black and white for my stock and therefore is more of a in your face poster. Here is my new design below.

This is my final text poster this is about the re offending rates and the process that happens when released from prison and the amount of time it takes till they usually re offend.
I would change how the writing over the arrows are straight and make them more flowing with the shape.

My third poster is my image & type poster which i have decided to put my privileges of prisoners research within this poster. I have decided to use drawings as symbols to put my opinion across. This is the first development below. Using the same colour palette as my others.

This was my first design  have drawn all these objects out and then placed them around which took a while due to the variety of ways I wanted them to be laced rather than just straight on. I am now going to add words about the images on this poster to make it more informative.

This is the final of my image & type poster I have included words to each object to explain a bit of how much they pay and what I was shocked about that they get. These are all the things that most law-abiding citizens can't even afford outside so why do they receive it when they are suppose to be getting punished for something they have done wrong within society.
