Secret 7 Designs

Secret 7 Design Work

I have done 30 thumbnail designs, which are below. I had lots of ides on my head until i started putting them down on paper and then they didn't seem to be that many:

THUMBNAILS

This is the first design i did that I wanted to try out as I had the photo of the daisy from before in my other course. The effect of the rubbing away over the image is from my research. I put the "He loves me, He loves me not" on in illustrator which i don't think the typeface is very fitting for the song although i wanted it to look hand written. I tried different looks of effects and different colours but I don't think it looks as good as I though it was going to and think the vinyl cover needs to be more illustrated or computerised rather than photography.

This idea was derived from the music equalizers and i wanted to put the heart into it to show the love in the music. Although once i had done it i realised that it could be also related to is there still life in the love? As i thought it looked more like a heart machine response line. I did the cream background first but then changed it to grey due to not been sure if the cream would come out yellow and also the red might stand out more against the dark background.

The idea of the heart been confused is shown through the complicated lines to make up the heart and then if the love is real is through the key and the lock. I would cut it out i think so its more clean as i am not very smooth when using the pen tool. I like the red used against the cream background I would like to print screen the key in gold but I don't have enough time as its only a week brief and has to be submitted on Sunday.

This idea came from my research and the triangles poster. I liked the idea of using geometric shapes interlinking and wanted to relate to the song so put the picture of the eye to relate to the lyric 'I can see it in his eyes' I think this is quite childish and then tried it again using more a smaller colour/closer colour palette as then it may relate to the song even more. But i still thinks it quite complicated for the simplistic Jessie Ware artist.

I like this as its very simple although this more the responce of the man rather than explaining the song. I like the use of the hand dangling the heart on a string like he's stringing her confused heart along. I have shown the complicated and confusion through the make up of the colour is it made up of lots of squiggly lines rather than a block.

This was my last idea, i realised that it says in your eyes so really you need both eyes to relate fully to the lyrics. I like the threshold look of these I got this idea form my research and the threshold design. The blackness of the eyes just central of the page really makes them stand out. I ten placed hearts in the eye subtly to show the love in his eyes. I didn't know if this needed a background at first but i think it works very well without it.

I choose to submit the finalised heart one from the crit which is below and this is the confirmation email that I received once submitted.
