Circle Postcards
This was the most interesting photographs i took. I think this has a great hidden focus on the circle. Both circled in the handle and on the gripper. Although the photos don't look very much edited which is the main focus of the brief. Although I do like the simplicity of them. Also i only have 3 photos of the clips and i have created 4 by making one a close up of the circle in the handle.
The lights are one of the sequential photos i have with 4 photos of interesting circle lights. And therefore would be a good option to use for the 5 sequential postcards. Although they are all in different environments and therefore have different backgrounds and therefore the edits are not looking similar and i am finding it hard to make them follow smoothly.
These are all tubes on different objects and different purposes. I like the use of tubes as its photographing and you don't have to show the circle because its a known circle without documenting the circle end. The same problem with backgrounds is applying to this too due to the different colours etc...
I liked the photos of christmas and thought the baubles was a good option to use for the circle, as there a circle all the way through. Although it would not be good to work with long term and also i liked the washed out look within the first two images.
I think I am going to take more photos to be able to aim to get the style in the postcard I want now I know what style I want I know what photos I need which I probably should have done before I left college for the christmas break. So there will be more focused images coming.
These are the photos i took before i have edited them below. I thought this through my research for my postcard layout. They all are the same bannister and same location so the editing will have the same effect etc...
These are my edited images, I have adjusted the brightness and contrast to make the pictures more clearer and identifiable. Then i changed the levels of the image so the colours became more vibrant and the output to a high low level. Furthermore, I Increased the highlights of the image and lessened the shadows of the image.
These are my finals of the postcards that i have been inspired for my final design by my research. I have altered my images on photoshop by creating them into a circle which some are from two seperate pictures and others are broken up from the same edited photo. Here are my 5 final fronts:
The next picture below is the back of all my 5 post cards I wanted this to be dedicated to circles and therefore interlinking circles for the bodycopy to write your information and the stamp. Then they are named circle postcard in a circle block font.
Evaluation
I am very happy with this project and how its has come out. I didn't like photoshop before and didn't like the effects it produced etc.. but now i know more about how to use them and what i can produce. The making was very enjoyable. The only thing i would change is maybe add extra saturation to them to bring out the red & blue more than the slight adjustment at the moment. Also the writing lines are not evenly spaced out which I realised after I printed them out. If I was to have had further time on this brief I think would have tried to use a different stock or created a circle pattern but with reduce opacity so I wasn't using plain white background or stock.
